Paper and Cardboard
We
accept the following for recycling:
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Cardboard and cardboard packaging
- Mixed household paper
- Telephone directories
- Reading books
We do NOT accept
the following for recycling:
- Contaminated paper or cardboard, they must be dry.
Please
separate paper into different types.
There
are separate containers at the site for the different types.
If you mix paper and cardboard it will affect the quality of
the end product.

Newspapers and Glossy Magazines.
These are recycled into new newspapers

- Cardboard
and Cardboard packaging including cereal and detergent
boxes (please flatten), which is recycled into new cardboard
|

- Mixed
Household paper (e.g. junk mail, envelopes and bills)

Waste
Paper is sent to paper mills where it is turned into pulp. The
recycled pulp can then be mixed with a percentage of virgin wood
pulp fibres to produce recycled paper and cardboard
 |
Some
interesting facts about Paper Recycling: |
- Paper and Cardboard make up 20% of the contents of your household
bin.
- Using recycled paper to make new paper requires 28% less
energy and less water than using virgin material.
- For
every tonne of paper used for recycling, 17 trees are
spared.
