Free Shred Event - 2020 European Shredding Day (Confidential Paper)
Takes place @ Mungret Recycling Centre ONLY on Saturday 1st Feb 2020 from 11am until 3.00pm.
Householders and SMEs can bring:
Four bin bags of confidential paper material per individual attendee.
Four hard-drives or other media device per individual attendee free of charge in addition to the bags of documents.
Limerick City and County Council in conjunction with Security in Shredding, a local company specialising in the secure destruction of data and GDPR compliance in Ireland and the UK, are facilitating the 'Free Shred Event' to celebrate European Data Protection Day 2020, promote awareness of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and promote good waste management practices.
Data Protection experts will also be on hand on the day to assist attendees with their data protection and waste management queries, and to provide best practice guidance for SME's and householders when left with the responsibility to securely destroy end of life data.
Householders and SMEs are encouraged to bring a maximum of four bin bags of confidential paper material. Confidential material can include personal information, bills, customer records, insurance records and income statements, to be shredded on site on the day.
Security in Shredding is an innovative company which leads to continually improving upon their technologies and services to provide the most secure and compliant services for customers. The company is the first Irish Data Processor to design and introduce a mobile hard-drive shredding technology. Staff will also be onsite to destroy up to four hard-drives or other media device per individual attendee free of charge in addition to the bags of documents.
Recycling of Household Christmas Trees
Christmas Trees will be taken free of change at the Limerick Recycling Centres for the month of January 2020.
Please Note: A maximum limit of two (2) household Christmas trees per car. For any additional household Christmas Trees, a charge of €5 per tree will be applied.
For all commercial businesses, commercial charges will still apply.
