Materials Not Accepted

It is not possible to recycle all the different types of waste materials generated at home
at the Limerick Recycling Centres. Some material simply cannot be recycled and
should be disposed of to landfill, eg. contaminated food packaging such as a pizza box
containing leftover pizza. etc
Examples of materials which cannot be accepted at the Limerick
Recycling Centres:
General Waste
Clothing or Textiles that are soiled or in bad condition
Clingfilm (accepted in Mungret only)
Fibre Glass Items
Household Gas Cylinders (Calor/FloGas)
Ink and Toner cartridges

Insulation Materials
Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF)
Treated Timber e.g. creosote and painted.
Plastic Baths and Shower Trays
Plaster Board
PVC Window Frames
Pillows or Duvets
Suitcases
These items should be taken to:
Gortadroma, Ballyhahill, County Limerick (approximately 5 miles from the village of
Shanagolden).
